Running the business on gut feel and the bank balance?
Revenue moves around, costs creep, and there is no plan to hold it against. When someone asks whether you can afford the hire or the new premises, the honest answer is you are not sure. Without a budget, every decision is a judgement call made in the dark, and you only find out you were wrong after the money has gone.
- No target to measure the month against, so you never know if it went well
- Big decisions on hiring or spending made without a number behind them
- Cash surprises that a forecast would have flagged months earlier
What sorted looks like
You get a budget built around how your business actually works, reforecast every quarter as things change. Each month, your management accounts show performance against that plan, so you know where you stand and what to do about it.
- A clear monthly and annual target, so you can tell a good month from a bad one
- A number behind every hire, price change and investment decision
- A rolling forecast that flags cash pressure well before it lands
- A fixed monthly fee agreed up front, scoped to your situation

What the fee covers
Three parts that work together: a budget to aim at, a forecast that keeps up with reality, and monthly reporting that shows how you are tracking.
An Annual Budget Built Around You
A budget grounded in how your business actually earns and spends, not a spreadsheet of guesses. Revenue lines, staffing, overheads and margin are set out so you have a target for the year. Built with Annabel’s FD-level view of what moves the number.
The plan for the yearQuarterly Reforecasts
A budget set in January is out of date by March. Every quarter, the forecast is updated for what has actually happened and what you now expect, so the number you are running against stays realistic. You always know the current best view, not last year’s assumptions.
Kept currentActual-vs-Budget, Every Month
Your monthly management accounts show performance against the plan, delivered within five working days of month close. Where you are ahead, where you are behind, and what is driving it, explained in plain English. So each month ends with a decision, not a shrug.
In your management accountsNot one good experience, a pattern
Owners across different trades, some scaling, some starting out, some switching after being let down, describe the same thing: clear advice they can act on.
A Vital Part Of Continued Growth
“Her support and knowledge have been superb, and I now see her as a vital part of my business and its continued growth.”
Thorough, And Saved Me Thousands
“She has fixed so many lazy, unprofessional mistakes by my old accountant by being so meticulously thorough, offering amazing business advice & has saved me thousands!”
Support That Set My Mind At Ease
“The support and advice I have had has been extremely helpful and has set my mind at ease knowing that any problems or queries I have will be handled or answered.”
Budgets built by someone who has run one
A forecast is only useful if the person building it understands how the business behaves. Annabel has sat on your side of the desk.
A Forecast From An FD
Annabel spent sixteen years inside growing businesses, including as a Finance Director, so the budget reflects how a real trading month plays out. She has built plans that had to survive contact with reality, not just tidy models. The number you get is one you can actually run against.
Tracked Every Month, On Time
Budgeting is not a once-a-year exercise. Actual-vs-budget lands in your management accounts within five working days of month close, every month. You see drift early, while there is still time to do something about it.
Explained So You Can Act
A variance report nobody understands changes nothing. Annabel talks through where you are against plan in plain English, and what the sensible next move is. You leave the conversation knowing what to do, not just what happened.

A Number To Lead With
From then on, you have a target for the year, reforecast each quarter, with monthly tracking against it. Decisions get easier because there is a number behind them. Which is, frankly, how running a business should feel.
“Friendly, supportive and very quick to respond to any queries or sort advice. I would 100% recommend.”
Questions owners usually ask
What is the difference between a budget and a reforecast?
The budget is your plan for the year, set once and used as the target to measure against. The reforecast updates that view each quarter for what has actually happened and what you now expect. The budget shows where you meant to be; the reforecast shows where you now think you will land.
What does budgeting and forecasting cost?
There is no published price list, because the work depends on how complex your business is and what you need. Fees are scoped on the free discovery call and then fixed, so you know the number up front. In practice it is usually part of a monthly package alongside your management accounts.
My books are a mess. Can you still build a useful budget?
A budget is only as good as the numbers underneath it, so if the books need tidying first, we handle that. Catch-up or clean-up work is scoped separately and agreed before we start, so there are no surprises. Once the history is reliable, the budget is built on something real.
Am I tied into a long contract?
No. There is an initial three-month settling-in period, after which either side can walk away with clean books and nothing outstanding. The work should earn its place each month, not because a contract holds you there.
How often will I actually see the numbers against budget?
Every month. Actual-vs-budget sits inside your management accounts, delivered within five working days of month close. That means you spot drift early, not at year-end when it is too late to react.
Can the forecast help me plan for tax and cash as well?
Yes. A forecast that models revenue and costs also shows the cash and tax position building up ahead of time, so a Corporation Tax or VAT bill is not a shock. Where useful, this ties into cash flow forecasting so you can see the money coming in and going out, not just the profit.
